AI Essentials / Literacy (eLearning+Classroom) (EN)

This learning journey takes you through the AI technologies and techniques behind intelligent applications such as expert systems, ChatGPT, and image recognition.

We explain artificial intelligence (AI) in an accessible way and cover the key foundational techniques, such as data analysis, machine learning, and deep learning. We also explore various application areas, including clustering, classification, (custom) GPT models, speech and music generation, and expert systems.

This combination of 8-hour e-learning and live classroom day is accredited at BCS Essentials level and provides an ideal basis for AI Literacy. The programme prepares you for an exam that can be taken via EXIN. A separate exam voucher is required for this (please contact us for more information).

This programme is designed for a broad professional audience who want to build a solid foundation in artificial intelligence in an accessible way. The programme is explicitly not limited to IT professionals, but intended for anyone who wants to understand and apply AI in a professional context.

This learning journey provides a clear overview of the technologies and techniques behind modern AI applications, such as expert systems and image and speech recognition. You will learn what AI is, which core techniques are used, and how these translate into practical applications, including numerical models, classification, chatbots, speech and text processing, GPT models, and expert systems.

The programme is accredited at BCS Essentials level and prepares you for the EXIN examination. After completion, you can progress to follow-up pathways such as AI Foundation, Cognitive Augmentation, or Data Driven Business Leadership.

Learning objectives:

- Understand why data, data science, and AI are vital for the future

- Discover what data science and AI are and how they transform organisations

- Learn what algorithms, machine learning, and GPT models are and how they are applied

- Build your first AI models in our AI playground

- Develop awareness of the risks, ethics, and dilemmas surrounding AI and how to mitigate them

- Understand that EU AI guidelines place the human at the centre

- Know how to start with a concrete use case within your own work practice

This learning path consists of:

- an e-learning consisting of a series of multi-media micro-learnings

- access to our AI playground in which you build your first AI models and can practice prompting

- quizzes to test your knowledge

- support via our AI 'learning buddy' to experience an Agent helping you

- examples of advanced agents including our EU AI Act Buddy

- One day participation in our classical session in Utrecht met an English speaking trainer

You can additionally opt to take the EXIN / BCS exam and gain the certification that you are 'AI Literate'. See separate product 'exam voucher'

After completing the Essentials, you can further deepen your knowledge by following:

- AI Foundation,

- Generative AI and Prompting, or

- AI Ethics.

This course starts at your own pace with the e-learning. Going through the entire e-learning will take about eight hours. After completing the e-learning, you can attend one of our classroom sessions.
